Online gambling company Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) today announced that it has integrated Playtech’s iPoker to its platform to further grow the online gaming offering it delivers to its network of operator partners.

Playtech’s iPoker product comprises an online poker network that has tens of thousands of players from all around the world. Rooms within the network operate in most regulated markets that permit online poker.

GiG said that its partnership with Playtech and the addition of iPoker to its iGaming platform will provide its clients with access to one of the largest online poker networks in the world. Through that partnership, GiG’s operator partners can benefit from a wide variety of game types, including Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, 6-Plus Hold’em, and Sit’N’Gos as well as from an extensive range of table stakes and tournament buy-ins. iPoker’s offering is available via HTML5 on web, iOS, and Android clients.

Commenting on the addition of iPoker to the offering already available on their platform, GiG CCO Ben Clemes said that they are excited to have entered the online poker vertical through a partnership namely with Playtech.

Mr. Clemes when on to say that the integration of iPoker on their platform enables their operator partners to deliver a strong poker experience to their players.

As part of the integration process, GiG added to its microservices in a bid to scale and integrate with other third-party poker providers in the future and thus provide their clients with “more flexibility and choice”, Mr. Clemes added.

A Lot of Recent Activity

Commenting on their partnership with GiG, Playtech COO Shimon Akad said that they are delighted to welcome GiG on their iPoker network and that having invested heavily on a new online poker web client, in addition to a native poker app and downloadable poker client, “together Playtech and GiG can offer operators access to an exceptionally flexible platform as well as an ever-growing network.”

Mr. Akad added that GiG is an important strategic partner for his company and that they look forward to working with the online gambling group and bring together “industry-leading technology to the sector.”

iPoker has seen a lot of activity in recent weeks as the majority of the 16 poker rooms that were active on MPN transitioned namely to Playtech’s poker network. MPN, Microgaming’s veteran poker network, shut down for good on May 16.

As mentioned above, it powered 16 online poker rooms; three of them closed last year after Micorgaming broke the news about MPN’s permanent closure, while the other 13 remained operational until the network closed earlier this month. Of those 13, nine made the switch to iPoker.

In addition, Swedish online gambling group Enlabs AB announced a few days ago that it has parted ways with GG Network and has decided to migrate its poker offering to iPoker. The migration is expected to be completed over the summer.
