NetEnt Rolls Out Africa-Themed, Feature-Packed Serengeti Kings Slot

NetEnt is taking players to the plains of the Serengeti to explore the region’s wildlife and many riches with its brand new Africa-themed online slot Serengeti Kings.

The new title in the Swedish online casino games studio’s ever-growing portfolio arrives with a 5×4 grid and 26 fixed paylines and is packed with features, some of which pretty unique.

Symbols include the 9-A royals, which are the lowest paying symbols, and any wild animals from meerkats and zebras to giraffes and hyenas, which represent the high paying symbols. Lions and Panthers are the highest paying symbols in the game and some of its most exciting features are centered around those two animals, the Kings of the Serengeti.

The Lion rules the Serengeti during daytime, while the Panther takes over when night falls. Action kicks off with Lion Spins mode during the day, which is followed by Panther Spins mode which takes place after sunset.

Both modes grant 12 spins each. During each of the 12-spin round any Lion or Panther symbols that hit the reels are collected in two separate counters located at the two sides of the reels if players play the game on desktop or at the grid’s left for mobile.

Special Features

On the 12th Lion Spin, players do not collect Lion symbols. Instead, the Lion Feature is unlocked and all collected Lion symbols throughout the Lion Spins mode are distributed randomly over the reels. The same happens in Panther Spins mode.

Players are thus offered the chance to hit some winning combinations. For instance, if a Lion Symbol lands on a Panther Symbol or a Panther Symbol lands on a Lion Symbol, they turn into a Wild. If a Lion Symbol lands on another Lion Symbol, a Panther Symbol is placed on top of the same symbol, or a Lion or Panther Symbol lands on a Wild symbol, this symbol gets a +1 Multiplier.

The Free Spins feature is unlocked when three or more Scatters hit the reels during a spin. Players are awarded 12 Free Spins. During that mode, players keep collecting Lion and Panther Symbols. On the final Free Spin, the collected symbols are placed randomly across the reels to create winning combinations, wilds, and multipliers.

During base game, players can buy directly into the Free Spins feature with the game’s Buy Free Spins option. However, that option is not available across all online casinos offering Serengeti Kings.
