The Hard Rock Casino Rockford keeps breaking the records. The temporary casino, located on the Bell School Road in Illinois, finished its second and final year of operation with a record-breaking revenue recorded in December.
Great year for Hard Rock Casino Rockford:
Geno Iafrate, a President of Hard Rock Casino Rockford, is satisfied with the results from the last year, claiming that it was a year of milestones for this casino. Among the most important ones is a Hard Rock Opening Act. Iagrate is happy about the opening of the permanent casino, but, as he stated, saying goodbye to the temporary one would be bittersweet. As Rockford Register Star reports, he said: “The new year will be exciting with the opening of the big joint, but it will also be sad to see the Opening Act close.”
The Rockford Casino generated more than $69 million in revenue in 2023. Compared to 2022, when the revenue was $54.8 million, the increase of 26% was recorded. On top of that, the Illinois Gaming Board announced the new monthly record, which was achieved in December, when the revenue was $6.5 million.
In April 2023, table games were introduced to the casino’s visitors, which increased the number of employees to more than 350. At the beginning of the table games journey, the casino had six live table games – four blackjack tables, one Three Card Poker Table, and one Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em table. Shortly after that, Mississippi Stud, roulette, and Mini-Baccarat tables were added, and the most recent addition was a craps table.
The temporary casino opened in November 2021, and it recently surpassed a milestone of million guests from 50 states, the District of Columbia, and seven other countries. In 2023, the number of guests increased 32% compared to 2022.
Sports betting to be launched:
One of the plans for 2023 didn’t go through, though. The company had plans to launch a sports book in Rockford, but it took longer than expected, so the sports book is expected to be launched at the beginning of 2024, after the Illinois Gaming Board issues a license.
The construction of the permanent casino resort is about to be completed in the summer of 2024. The casino will be placed across 180.000 square feet, and it will be located on East State Street at the exit of Interstate 90.
It is expected that the casino will employ approximately 400 new employees. New, 65.000 square-foot casino will feature 1.300 slot machines, an advanced sports book, as well as 44 table games so the fans of blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and craps, as well as other table games, can enjoy them. The casino will also contain the poker room. On top of that, the visitors will be able to enjoy the Hard Rock Café and Hard Rock Live event center, with 23.500 square feet of space as a conference space, or 1.600 seats for live concerts.
