Mohegan Names New Executives To Corporate Executive Team

Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, the globally famous gaming and entertainment brand based in Connecticut, revealed that it has officially named Joffre Wells as its VP of Capital Markets, Investor Relations and Corporate Treasurer, making him part of its Executive team. In addition, two more internal promotions occurred, as individuals who have been with Mohegan for more than 10 years, Kelly Sullivan and Kelly Leung, were promoted to the firm’s Leadership team.
Rich experience:
Before officially joining the firm, Joffre worked for Brandywine Global in Philadelphia as a Global Macro Trader. In addition to that, he worked for BlackRock in New York as as Global Rates Trader – Vice President. Regarding his education, he possess an MS in Finance from Drexel University, an MBA in Management Information Systems and a BBA in Finance from Temple University.
In his new role at Mohegan, Joffre will assist in managing the capital planning of the firm using his skills in foreign exchange hedging, interest rate management and fixed income, while simultaneously boosting its banking and investor relationships. In addition, this job also permits him to utilize his expertise to back up strategic projects in analysis, financial planning and accounting as well as Team Member development.

Unrivaled commitment:
As for Kelly Leung, who has now been promoted to the role of Senior Vice President of International Marketing, he has long been a key part of the Asian Marketing efforts in Mohegan Sun, a leading facility for the firm. In his new role, he will stay included in the aforementioned marketing initiatives at the aforementioned facility, while simultaneously expanding his expertise and responsibilities across Mohegan’s global portfolio which involves Mohegan INSPIRE Entertainment Resort in Incheon, South Korea, Casino Niagara and Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
Additionally, he has over 27 years of experience in the gaming and entertainment industry. Starting his career with Foxwoods as an Executive Host, the talented Kelly has also worked at Harrah’s and Caesars properties in Las Vegas as an Executive Director. As for Mohegan, he joined the team in 2006 when he worked as VP of Player Development of Asian Marketing at the aforementioned Mohegan Sun.
As for Kelly Sullivan, she officially joined the Mohegan family back in 2013 with her job as Director of Career and Leadership Development for the Mohegan Tribe, where she assisted in applying programs that back up key performance indicators (KPIs) and made sure that offered programs were aligned with strategic business objectives for each of the Mohegan property. However, she was officially hired by the firm in 2016 and took over the position of Director of Global Human Resources and Development.
While working in this role, she improved her corporate HR skills and was able to gain experience as a supervisor of operational planning for related sectors both locally and globally and of large scale business strategy.
Relatedly, beside this promotion, Kelly experienced another one back in 2019 when she was officially promoted to Director of Global People Operations for the company. However, at the same time the promotion occurred, she took on a global assignment where she led the execution and development of an all-inclusive HR strategy for Mohegan INSPIRE while based in South Korea.
In this newest role, Kelly will lead and supervise the Corporate People Operations team for hiring, recruiting, engagement, on-boarding, performance management and other necessary high-level internal business operations for the firm. Relatedly, Corporate People Operations is the latest name for the department formerly named Corporate Human Resources for Mohegan.
Commenting on the promotions, Ray Pineault added according to the official press release: “Kelly Sullivan and Kelly Leung are also exemplary team members at Mohegan and their respective promotions are well deserved. Our leadership at Mohegan is as strong as ever as we head into 2024 where we’ll meet new challenges and evolve our brand further.”
Moreover, these promotions come at a very positive time for the firm, as the brand recently expanded globally with the soft opening of Mohegan INSPIRE Entertainment Resort.
