The working world is settling into a new normal after the world health emergency and subsequent shift in the mechanics of how to work. Many workers have decided to forgo commuting to an office, preferring instead to continue with remote work.

While the pandemic was hard on everyone, some businesses suffered less, and many, especially in the remote gambling industry actually benefitted from increased online commerce as terrestrial casinos were shuttered and became a bit less attractive due to restrictions when they did finally manage to open their doors.

Today we’ll take a brief look at two companies with very different DNA but which are both opening and filling new offices in their respective jurisdictions in the hope of attracting and retaining the talent and expertise they need to compete effectively in the multi-billion dollar online gambling industry.

Those firms are 3 Oaks Gaming which is expanding rapidly in the Isle of Man, working closely with a sort of business incubator, and Red Rake Gaming, a flourishing decade and a half old company that decided to upgrade their local facilities in Valencia, Spain to augment its physical presence in Malta, where it holds a primary license.

They are two very different tales but both seem to feature all of the ingredients needed for a successful transition to new heights in the ever-changing high tech world of remote real money games.

3 Oaks Gaming

3 Oaks Gaming was recently granted a supplier license by the Gambling Supervision Commission in the Isle of Man and the firm has chosen that locale as its home base to accelerate expansion plans into other markets and jurisdictions.

The company appeared on the scene in January 2022 with a team of industry veterans and a decent portfolio of existing games.

Sebastian Damian, Managing Director of 3 Oaks Gaming, said: “The Isle of Man is a thriving hub for the industry, and we are proud to anchor our operations there and call the island home. This new office space marks the beginning of what will be a prosperous journey for us and one for which we have laid down the foundations for success.”

The company has wisely used all of the resources at its disposal including a partnership with Digital Isle of Man, an Executive Agency within the government there that operates as a public/private partnership to support the tech sector in IOM.

Chris Reilly, Strategic Partnership Manager at Digital Isle of Man, commented: “It is a great show of faith when companies set down roots on the Isle and we’re very pleased to welcome 3 Oaks’ commitment to the Isle of Man through the opening of its new office.”

Red Rake Gaming

Red Rake has been making entertaining and innovative games since 2011 and recently moved into new purpose-built office space in its hometown of Valencia. According to a press release from the game developer, the company capitalized on a shift to remote work over the last couple of years which has culminated in its: “…moving to a new location and creating a new office adapted to its current situation and personnel, and in order to best encourage communication and collaboration between its teams.”

Red Rake’s simple description of the new facilities sounds like a workplace made in heaven including a major focus on comfort at work, large kitchen areas, and a neon Pac-Man machine. It speaks of windowed meeting rooms which are free from external noise, private office booths where phone calls can be made away from others, environments for company celebrations, and plenty of other enhancements to the creative process with large shared spaces where: “…graphic designers, animators, developers, and systems and marketing staff come together,” with shared objectives and common goals.

Carlos Fernández, Managing Director of Red Rake Gaming said: “We are delighted to continue welcoming new employees on board and creating new offices. Now physically present in both Valencia and Malta, we believe that it’s important for us to maintain our local visibility, in order to continue serving our clients and play a greater role in markets in the process. Talent acquisition is the key to our success, and we believe it’s absolutely essential to create facilities in which our staff feel comfortable, in order to develop this talent and help it reach its full potential.”
