Artificial Intelligence Technology Solutions, Inc. (AITX), announced the location Monday where its artificial intelligence security robot has been deployed. While the company created a stir in December with the announcement of deployment, the location was not revealed until this week.

Red Hawk Casino has put the unit into service at its property in Placerville, California according to a press release on Globe News Wire Monday. The debut was launched by AITX’s wholly-owned subsidiary Robotic Assistance Devices, Inc. (RAD). The situationally responsive mobile intelligence unit has been dubbed, ROAMEO Rugged Observation Assistance Mobile Electronic Officer and the deployed unit is version 2.0.

The industry’s interest in ROAMEO is building, and we’re building ROAMEOs as fast as we can,” said Mark Folmer, President of RAD. “It’s great to be able to identify Red Hawk Casino as the next deployment for ROAMEO.”

Robots, Robots Everywhere

The California casino deployment doesn’t appear to be the only use of this type of technology in a public-facing role. While examining the company’s Youtube videos for background, several completed units at the crafting center had been branded for Six Flags. Further research shows that they were deployed at Six Flags over Texas. Readers can see the journey from metal bars and molded panels to the security officer of the future on the AITX channel here.

We are eager to have ROAMEO on our property,” said Christer Farr, Vice President of IT at Red Hawk Casino. “ROAMEO will be deployed as a much-needed asset for our security team, and as an attraction for our guests. I’m excited to see how our ROAMEO’s production is developing.

“Occasionally we’re able to name clients as deployment and implementations occur, especially on public-facing robots like Red Hawk’s ROAMEO,” said Steve Reinharz, CEO of AITX. “It’s going to be a beautiful site seeing ROAMEO patrol their property and interacting with their guests,” Reinharz added.

700 Pound AI Recognizes Faces and Reads Car Licenses

The 700-pound mobile security robot is nearly 7 feet tall. According to RAD, ROAMEO is able to patrol around the periphery or within the property autonomously while sending data and intelligence to its command center. Among its tasks are to survey its surroundings, and record activity during routine patrols.

In addition to security, the robot also has two 21.5” touch screens connected to the web and can provide concierge services and customized information to any guests it may encounter in the course of its patrol duties. At a height of 78” and the inclusion of interactive communications, industry-leading AI analytics, and video surveillance capabilities, the company says that ROAMEO is like no other outdoor security robot deployed before.

Concierge services can include profit-generating advertisements, messaging, local information, directions, and weather. While interacting with guests, security services such as panic buttons, a call for help, security alerts, etc.

All of the unit’s data is securely documented on the cloud including input from the AI-analytic suite fed in part by a 360-degree field of view. Also making use of enhanced cellular services, the robot can map the property it patrols, plan and execute its own routes, and avoid obstacles like trees or curbs while not interfering with people and their activities. Data collection feeds back into the AI for adjustments to future missions to increase efficiency and precision. The analytical suite of artificial intelligence allows the robot to identify people and read license numbers.
