Caesars, Station, MGM Reopen Vegas Casinos at 100% Capacity

Three major Las Vegas casino operators have been given the green light to reopen their gaming floors at 100% capacity as Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak eyes June 1 full reopening of the Silver State.

On Wednesday, Caesars Entertainment Inc., MGM Resorts International, and Station Casinos all secured approval from the Nevada Gaming Control Board to increase gaming floor occupancy to 100% at their properties.

In a statement, Caesars said that the state gaming regulator has given it the go-ahead to return to full occupancy and without social distancing on the casino floors of nine of its Vegas resorts. These include:

  • Bally’s Las Vegas
  • Caesars Palace Las Vegas
  • The Cromwell
  • Flamingo Las Vegas
  • Harrah’s Las Vegas
  • The LINQ Hotel + Experience
  • Paris Las Vegas
  • Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino
  • Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino

Caesars noted that the Gaming Control Board’s permission was the result of its “measurable and material steps to vaccinate” its employees.

Nevada gambling properties have been operating at limited capacity and with strict measures in place since their reopening in June 2020 after a three-month state-mandated closure aiming to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Nevada’s social distancing mandate was removed on May 1 and all Clark County casinos were allowed to raise their occupancy from 50% to 80% on the same day.

MGM, Station Casinos Too Resume Operations at 100% Capacity

MGM and Station Casinos were too allowed to reopen their Las Vegas casinos at full capacity this past Wednesday.

MGM returned immediately to 100% capacity and no social distancing on the casino floors of all of its Las Vegas properties, with those being:

  • Bellagio Resort & Casino
  • ARIA Resort & Casino
  • MGM Grand Hotel & Casino
  • Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino
  • Park MGM
  • The Mirage Hotel & Casino
  • New York-New York Hotel & Casino
  • Luxor Hotel and Casino
  •

  • Excalibur Hotel & Casino

The company noted that 80% occupancy restrictions and three-feet social distancing policies remain in place outside of its casino floors, including restaurants, pools, and other non-gaming amenities at its Vegas resorts.

Casino floors at Station Casinos’ Red Rock, Green Valley Ranch, Palace Station, Boulder Station, Sunset Station, and Santa Fe Station properties too now operate at full occupancy after the Nevada Gaming Control Board gave the nod to the move on Wednesday.

The company said that internal vaccination of its employees and their families which started in April continues at on-site clinics across its properties.

Caesars, MGM, and Station’s casinos joined a slew of other properties that have already resumed casino operations at 100% capacity, including The STRAT, Wynn, Encore, and The Cosmopolitan.
