Greentube Strengthens Casino Games Portfolio with Dutch Studio Takeover

Greentube, a game development arm of NOVOMATIC Interactive, announced Monday that it has added Dutch multi-platform casino content maker Eurocoin Interactive to its portfolio.

The move will strengthen Greentube’s product offering ahead of the company’s planned entry into the Dutch iGaming market.

Under the terms of the deal, Eurocoin Interactive will be renamed Greentube Netherlands and will provide its new owner with access to its hefty range of slots that were crafted to cater to the needs of the Dutch gambling market.

Titles that will soon be added to Greentube’s existing portfolio include Random Runner, Club 2000, and Simply Wild. All these will be available to Dutch players once the reorganization of the local digital gaming market is complete.

Eurocoin Interactive is a division of NOVOMATIC Netherlands. The company specializes in the development of online versions of classic land-based slots and VLT games. These are currently supplied to a slew of operators, including Norway’s gambling monopoly Norsk Tipping.

This is the latest in a streak of big announcements for Greentube. Last week, the company revealed that it entered Poland’s regulated online gaming market through a partnership with Total Casino. The latter is the digital operation of state-run company Totalizator Sportowy and the only entity authorized to provide online casino services in the country.

Dutch Expansion

The acquisition of the Dutch iGaming studio will enable Greentube to quickly expand in the local market as soon as this becomes possible.

After a lengthy and not always smooth process, the Netherlands is set to reorganize its digital gambling space on October 1 in a manner that will enable international companies to apply for licenses and operate in a regulated environment.

Some of the industry’s biggest players have expressed interest in entering that new and potentially highly lucrative market and Greentube will be supplying its content to many of them.

The acquisition of Eurocoin Interactive is the result of a strategic alignment as the studio’s online casino content is seen as a better fit for Greentube’s portfolio than that of land-based focused NOVOMATIC Netherlands.

The acquisition is expected to close by the end of the month and the integration of Greentube Netherlands’ games for its new owner’s partners will complete right in time for the opening of the local market.

Commenting on the addition of Eurocoin Interactive, Greentube CFO/CGO Michael Bauer said that Greentube Netherlands will be their “competence centre for a very specific market” and that they will use the studio’s vast knowledge and unrivaled experience to further enhance their own portfolio.

Eurocoin Interactive Director Reg Das added that when entering a new market, “it is key to hit the ground running by providing high-quality, locally tailored games” and that with the addition of their games to Greentube’s already impressive portfolio, the company will be unsurpassed in the Netherlands when regulated online gaming kicks off in the country later this year.
