Sports betting technology provider Kambi Group has secured a major client in the Netherlands in anticipation for the reorganization of the country’s online gambling market.

The company announced this week that it has teamed up with Dutch private casino operator JVH gaming & entertainment group in a deal that would enable the latter to launch an online sports betting operation in the Netherlands when this becomes possible.

After years of attempts to regulate online gambling, the Netherlands has set September 1, 2021 as the date when its new regulatory framework will take effect to pave the way for interested gambling companies to obtained online gambling licenses and operate in a regulated environment.

Under the terms of its recent agreement with Kambi, JVH will utilize the provider’s sportsbook technology and a suite of front-end and price differentiation tools to launch an online sports betting product in the Dutch market.

The company expects this to happen in the second half of the year, subject to the enforcement of the new law and regulatory approvals.

JVH was founded in the late 1950s and is one of the Netherlands’ largest private casino operators. The company owns more than 80 casinos and other gambling establishments around the country under several brands, including local market leader Jack’s Casino. It annually welcomes more than four million patrons across its properties.

An Important Strategic Milestone

Commenting on their partnership with Kambi, JVH group CEO and Chairman Eric Olders said that the deal marks an important strategic milestone for his company and its entry into a new phase of development that will see it leverage its existing casino experience to launch a premium online sportsbook as it finally goes digital.

Mr. Olders added that they are confident they have found a trusted partner in Kambi and that the sports betting provider shares their goal of providing customers with “engaging, innovative sports betting experiences.”

Kambi CEO Kristian Nylén said that their agreement with JVH positions both companies to fully capitalize on the forthcoming regulation of the Dutch online gambling space. Mr. Nylén went on that partner’s reach in the Netherlands’ land-based casino market is unmatched and that “Kambi’s digital expertise will enable them to accelerate their growth with a market-leading online sports betting offer.”

JVH also plans to bring its Jack’s Casino online when the Dutch iGaming market opens. The company unveiled last week a partnership with Live Casino expert Evolution that will see JVH’s digital gaming operation integrate the provider’s entire Live Casino range as well as its First Person RNG games and game show titles.
