Microgaming is set to further bolster its online casino offering thanks to a recent partnership it has inked with games studio Big Time Gaming (BTG).

The deal will see Microgaming utilize its partner’s trademarked Megaways mechanic in a number of upcoming slots.

BTG launched its Megaways solution in 2016 to take the industry by storm and bring a thrilling innovation in the way slots experience is delivered. Megaways was built with the goal of increasing player engagement across online slots of all kinds through a dynamic, fast-paced gaming experience.

The mechanic features a random reel modifier system that enables any given spin to produce an ever-changing number of symbols across the grid. This allows slots enthusiasts to experience a completely different game each and every time they play with hundreds of thousands of possible winways.

Following its deal with BTG, Microgaming will be working with its network of independent game development studios to integrate Megaways into suitable new titles that are set to be added to its platform.

The first game that will deploy the mechanic will be Shamrock Holmes, an online slot that is scheduled for January networkwide rollout.

Excited to Expand Relationship

Commenting on their Megaways deal with Big Time Gaming, Microgaming CEO John Coleman said that Megaways has had huge success since first introduced and that they are excited to be integrating the game mechanic into some of their future releases.

Mr. Coleman went on to say that BTG are proven innovators within the online gambling space and that they are delighted to extend their existing relationship with the provider and grow its presence on Microgaming’s casino content aggregation platform. BTG already provides access to its new game releases to Microgaming’s ever-growing network of operator partners, under the original partnership between the two major iGaming suppliers.

Commenting on the recently signed Megaways deal, Big Time Gaming CEO Nik Robinson said that they are on a mission to bring the “Megaways revolution” to a bigger audience and that “they don’t come much bigger than Microgaming.”

Mr. Robinson went on that their partner is an industry pioneer and remains one of the biggest forces in the online gaming space. The BTG boss further noted that they are delighted to have the opportunity to contribute “in a small way to the Microgaming story.”

It will be a busy week for Microgaming as the provider is gearing up preparations for the launch of a solution for the German market that complies with recently introduced rules and regulations for the provision of iGaming services. The solution will allow Microgaming’s Germany-facing online gambling operators to technically prepare themselves to operate under the new rules.
