American iGaming, lottery and gaming machines innovator Scientific Games Corporation has announced the signing of an agreement that has given prominent operator Flutter Entertainment permission to continue utilizing the OpenSports sportsbetting platform from its SG Digital subsidiary.
The Las Vegas-headquartered behemoth used an official press release to detail that the five-year extension follows the recent inking of a similar deal with online bookmaker FanDuel Group for that firm’s own family of United States-facing online sportsbooks.
Ubiquitous undertaking:
Scientific Games Corporation explained that London-listed Flutter Entertainment, which was known as Paddy Power Betfair until undergoing a 2019 name-change, is now to carry on exploiting the OpenSports advance so as to power its extensive portfolio of mobile-friendly sportsbetting domains including Betfair.com, PaddyPower.com, SkyBet.com and Sportsbet.com.au.
Prominent partner:
Jordan Levin, Digital Chief Executive Officer for Scientific Games Corporation, used the press release to describe Flutter Entertainment as a firm that regularly serves over 13 million punters across the world courtesy of ‘some of the world’s most innovative, diverse and distinctive sportsbetting and gaming brands.’
Read a statement from Levin…
“Over the last two decades, we’ve worked together through major shifts in technology, player expectations and the ramping up of United States sportsbetting where we partner with FanDuel Group. We share a common ambition to take podium positions in key regulated markets through responsible, engaging and safe player experiences.”
Optimistic outlook:
For his part and Rik Barker, Chief Information Officer for Flutter Entertainment, admitted to being ‘pleased’ with the contract extension before proclaiming that the OpenSports advance ‘has been a key part of our sportsbetting platforms for many years’ and is utilized alongside his firm’s own ‘proprietary technology and product development capabilities.’
Barker’s statement read…
“The reliability and scalability of its technology provides us with a robust platform to deliver on our strategic goals. As we enter a new era of sportsbetting, we’re looking forward to working with its world-class teams and technology to capitalize on opportunities across our sector.”
