Caesars Appoints Jacqueline Grace as New Tropicana AC General Manager

Caesars Entertainment Inc. on Wednesday named experienced casino industry executive Jacqueline Grace Senior Vice President and General Manager of Tropicana Atlantic City.

Tropicana is one of four casinos the company now operates in Atlantic City after the $17.3 billion merger between Eldorado Resorts and the old Caesars closed this past July.

Ms. Grace succeeds Jason Gregoric, who stepped in as General Manager of the casino resort when Eldorado purchased it in 2018. Mr. Gregoric was relocated to another Caesars casino, it also became known on Wednesday.

Ms. Grace brings two decades of experience in the casino industry. Most recently, she served as Vice President and Assistant General Manager at Caesars’ Horseshoe Baltimore Casino. In these two roles, she oversaw the completion of several expansion projects at the property, including the addition of multiple celebrity chef dining outlets to its offering, as well as the renovation of The Marketplace, a casual dining area.

While at Horseshoe Balitmore, Ms. Grace also oversaw the opening of The Terrace, a $15 million elevated outdoor gambling, dining, and entertainment facility that spans more than 10,000 square feet.

Before joining the casino industry, Ms. Grace had held management roles in technology and diversity and inclusion on Wall Street.

Fourth Female Atlantic City Casino Boss

Of her new role within Caesars, Ms. Grace said that she started her gaming career in Atlantic City and is thrilled to “return and join one of the top destinations in the market.” She added that it is an exciting time for the casino operator and that she is “looking forward to working with the team to further position Tropicana for continued growth and success.”

Ms. Grace is the fourth woman to be placed at the helm of an Atlantic City casino as the gaming industry has been making big strides toward diversity and inclusivity.

It should also be noted that Tropicana’s new General Manager is the second black woman to be in charge of an Atlantic City casino, joining Melonie Johnson, the President of Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.

Terry Glebocki, who was appointed as CEO of Ocean Casino Resort last year, and Karie Hall, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Bally’s Atlantic City, are the other two female leaders holding the reins of Atlantic City casinos.

There are nine operational casinos in the popular resort city, which means that nearly half of Atlantic City’s casino establishments are overseen by women.

With revenue of $138 million during the first eight months of the year, Tropicana is one of Atlantic City’s best performing casinos. However, the property recorded a 42% revenue drop from last year due to the coronavirus pandemic that forced the city’s gambling venues to shut down and remain closed from mid-March through early July.

Tropicana is one of four Atlantic City properties currently owned by Caesars. The company is in the process of selling Bally’s to Twin River Worldwide Holdings.
