Circa Resort & Casino Said for Oct. 28 Opening in Downtown Vegas

Circa Resort & Casino, a new hotel-casino currently taking root in Downtown Las Vegas, is set to open doors on October 28, owner Derek Stevens announced Wednesday.
The property was originally expected to welcome its first guests in December, but developers have instead decided to open its first five floors earlier than scheduled.
Circa Las Vegas will feature multiple amenities within a 35-story tower. As mentioned above, the first five floors, that is basically all resort facilities except the hotel portion, will debut on October 28. The hotel tower, which will feature 777 rooms and suites starting on the eighth floor, will be launched at some point in December, according to latest plans.
The change in the opening timeline was forced by the coronavirus pandemic and social distancing requirements on the construction site. Restrictions on the number of people that were allowed in man lifts limited the number of construction workers that were allowed to work on the upper floors of the hotel tower.
Contractors thus had to focus their efforts on the first five floors of the resort. Mr. Stevens said in a news release Wednesday that “sometimes life throws you curveballs, and 2020 has been an unpredictable year for the entire world” and that they took the hand they were dealt and “tried to work as efficient as possible.”
Circa Casino, Sportsbook, Pool, Parking Garage Set for Oct. 28 Launch
The October 28 opening will include almost all of the resort’s non-hotel facilities, including its two-level casino, its sportsbook, which Mr. Stevens touted as the largest in the world, the parking garage, the pool area, and several dining outlets.
The two-story casino will feature 1,350 slot machines, including 55 high-limit slots, and 49 table games. The stadium-style sportsbook will have a seating capacity of 1,000 guests and will feature a 78-million-pixel high definition screen that will be viewable throughout the gaming floor.
The third floor will feature a broadcast studio for Vegas Stats and Information Network (VSiN) that will offer bettors daily analyses and related content by broadcasters, athletes, and industry professionals.
Circa is also set to debut its pool amphitheater in late October. The pool complex will feature six pools on three different levels with a view to a massive 40-foot-tall high-definition screen. It will have a 4,000-person capacity and will offer 30 cabanas, 38 day beds, and 337 chaise lounges.
Several of the dining outlets planned to be part of Circa Las Vegas will too debut October 28.
Circa is the first hotel and casino resort to be built up from ground in Downtown Vegas in nearly three decades. The property will employ around 1,000 people once fully operational, Mr. Stevens said Wednesday.
After the October 28 partial opening, construction efforts will be focused on finishing the hotel portion in time for the planned December opening of the 777-room hotel.
