GGPoker.be will be operated by Deba Square, an online gaming company that holds a license from the Belgian Gaming Commission. In addition, the poker operator will collaborate with local poker company Concept Booth, which runs poker clubs and events around Belgium.
GGPoker’s partnership with Concept Booth will see the latter market the former’s product in the local market through various initiatives.
The recently secured license will enable Belgian players to register with the GGPoker.be website starting July 31 and to thus participate in poker games on the GGPoker Network. It should also be noted that the upcoming launch of the new online poker site will provide Belgian fans of the game with the opportunity to win a World Series of Poker gold bracelet in this year’s WSOP Online Series.
Those who sign up with the site will also be able to qualify for the WSOP Main Event later this year from the comfort of their home in their home country.
The WSOP and GGPoker first teamed up in the spring of 2020 when casinos around the US were shuttered due to the coronavirus outbreak. The partnership resulted in several WSOP-branded online poker festivals being hosted by GGPoker since then and in long-term plans for future events.
Happy to Go Live in Underserved Market
Commenting on their launch in Belgium, GGPoker Head of Europe Marco Trucco said that they are happy to “bring our poker and innovation to the underserved Belgian market.”
He further noted that their partnership with a local company that is managed by experienced poker event organizers is a manifestation of how they like to make the GGPoker brand relevant and successful in a new market – that is to say by “connecting with people and genuine communities who share our passion for poker.”
Kristof De Deken, Founder of Concept Booth, said that they are delighted to be teaming up with GGPoker in Belgium. Mr. De Deken went on to say that his company has been active in both the live and online poker fields for many years and that the Belgian market is “more than ready to welcome a new and attractive online poker provider”, especially one that is “breathing poker in every meaning of the word.”
He also expressed confidence that GGPoker’s debut in Belgium will help the local poker industry become “stronger and more appealing” as a “safe and controlled player environment, a premium user experience and local integration will be the highlights” of the market’s newest entry.
